| The birds are chirping, the squirrels are chattering, the dogs are barking, the ticks are sucking....Such a pretty morning.
So, I thought some pictures of what is going on out there might be in order.
The hydrangeas are pretty this year: This is an oakleaf
...and this is a macrophylla.
Believe it or not, those are all on the same bush! I used to have a burn pile up the hill and it appears to have done some strange things with the PH of the soil. Such a beautiful mistake.
This is a Kalmia Latifolia (Mountain Laurel). I found three of them for seven dollars apiece on sale and just couldn't resist them. Looks like they are pretty happy (This pic was taken about a month ago). Don't you just love the buds? I think that I probably should have rotated that picture, but it still comes across, don't you think?
And, of course, the obligatory butterfly on a coreopsis bloom:
So Miss Wifie is just off to Jekyll Island for the week and I just don't know what to do with myself...All of the great things that I could be up to...and I can't think of any of them!
Isn't that just the way it works?
